Macau Casino Auction List Posted

Hey folks, the Master Auction List for the Macau China Casino auction has been posted:

http://marketplacepro.moniker.com/auction/index.html

I am a bit surprised that the list was posted this early! The last TRAFFIC list was posted about two weeks before auction. The Macau auction list has more than 3 weeks before the actual auction... almost enough to do real marketing!

Am I correct in that they added close to 100 new names? If so, anybody know which ones?

Quite a few new .cn , based on the Geo, probably just regged. There really is some garbage in there. :)

Did anyone ever get authorizations from moniker for this auction starting TODAY?

I can't seem to get an answer from anyone

I wrote my rep about this and he replied:

These will go out today/tomorrow

Thanks for your help that makes me feel a little better. My rep didn't answer his phone or email today. He told me 8 days ago that I would get the forms "soon" lol.

Something is wrong with moniker I think.

I was never informed if any of my names were chosen. I just happened to see a couple by chance. Thats not cool. I buy and sell these things everyday. I am lucky that I still have the ones they chose.

Does anyone else have this problem or maybe its just my rep????

my rep is normally very reponsive to my emails and on top of things in general but i haven't received any communication lately and i have names in the GEO and Macau events. i haven't received the normal "congratulations, these names got in" email or the authorization forms. i'm guessing they are using the ones i have on file from previous auctions. i don't know what's going on.

Yes, a lot of agreements etc. carry over from previous auctions. I spoke to the escrow guy Michael and he acknowledged that sometimes the authorization just doesn't make it. The domains carry over too as stated in their contract. I have 19 names in this auction, and one of the names I did not submit on the official submission form. It was a carryover from TRAFFIC Miami that they decided to put in this auction. Actually I should have submitted it for this auction but you know how things get mixed up with lots of auctions and lots of domains... So their auto-submission process really works!

CAC Macao started yesterday :?

Was there, is there a live auction :? Is anybody there who will update :?

We did ask Moniker for updates on Geo but no response so I assume the same will apply here.

Asked a couple of friends who live in Macao if they had seen or heard anything about it and neither had any information.

Anyone else receive their authorization email listing only a portion of their names in the auction master list? I checked with my rep who told me it's normal and that all the missing names will also be included in the auction.

I didn't even realized that one of my domain got accepted. I received an authorization request on 11-27-07

I recieved the email and authorised it. Only 6 were included in that email, but there are many more names in the master list.

I have another one on the list but didn't received an Authorization.

So what's going to happen if some of your names are on the list and didn't received an Authorization?

I spoke with Michael in Escrow, and he says that they will go to auction anyway if they are on the list. Still, it would be a good idea to contact Moniker.

I found another one on the list that I didn't submit, which is fine and consistent with the Moniker procedures. The one I am curious about is the pubcon thing. I was very explicit in saying to my Moniker rep to "not enter anything into this auction that is not on the submission list". For that particular auction I did NOT want my domains automatically submitted, just the ones I submitted.

I totally agree

I didn't know they can do that. I thought they will submit only what you've submitted.

I just rechecked, and I have two domains that were not submitted to this auction but included anyway, and 18 that were submitted and included. So 10% of my domains were submitted from previous auctions! They do say that they can do that, I was surprised that they did it.

As another interesting note, the two that made it to this auction without being submitted were declined in previous auctions. One was a turn-down from TRAFFIC and one was from GEO.

They do reserve that right, and I did not say "no" to the automatic sweep provision. I DID say no to automatic sweep for pubcon... The reasoning there was I had some very high quality names in TRAFFIC that I did not want transferred automatically into a lower quality venue that might get lower prices.

Kind of like the hotel California... you can check in but you can never leave...

Be careful about automatically sweeping things. You just might sell things at bargain basement prices in a poorly attended auction. Of course if anything shows up at Pubcon without my approval... well, let's just say I keep careful records.
