I doubt it's a scam. It might of just gotten expired and they haven't renew it.

Check the site, it currently points to lunarpages.com and works. This isn't a small company or anything so I find this strange to just sell the name - especially given how much they've built it.

I doubt they would sell their domain without their whole hosting business unless they got a very large sum. It might be some random person put it up there as a joke or the owner just wanted to see what people would offer with no intention of selling. I think it's a random person that did it. Notice that the offer pricing is in Euros, but Lunarpages is in the US? That alone is enough to make me believe it was just someone joking around or maybe even a way to hype them up to get more visitors.

Lunarpages is not for sale nor have we been bought out by anyone. I have already requested that the "offer" be removed. Whoever posted the sale of the domain has no rights to the domain at all. Whoever started this thread has no association with Lunarpages and can neither confirm nor deny any business activities at Lunarpages.

Please make sure you go to the source with questions like these as these unfounded rumors can be quite damaging. There will be no "new owner" and Lunarpages is definitely not for sale.

JewlzK, I'd be careful about your "reliable birdie". It seems to not be so reliable after all. The owner of the company is still the original owner of the company and we have neither sold, been bought out nor acquired any new parters. We are also not entertaining any offers.

I would also like to add that we do aggressively pursue anyone violating our trademark. This includes registering similar names that would cause confusion. I have politely requested SEDO remove the listing. If they do not respond in a timely manner or refuse, I will then get my attorney involved but I see no reason to pay hundreds on such a silly matter if it can be resolved without bringing in legal.

Lunarpages has stated they won't sell and hence that one is a scam as they have requested SEDO to shut down that false sale. SEDO SHOULD cooperate since that domain name IS NOT owned by whoever the seller is but it is the property of LunarPages LLC.

The question for SEDO is only WHEN they will take it down? It seems somebody found a loophole :D.
