these domains...

www.VentureCapitalism.com
www.Songs.fm
www.Meds.md
www.AtlanticCity.AC

and possibly

www.written.com

I am willing to pay good money.

Some quick information about my development thoughts, in some cases, lack of thoughts:

www.VentureCapitalism.com- Site working with StartUps. please view www.ven.xbuild.com to get a better feel as to what I am looking for.

www.Songs.fm- No ideas. Think fm fits well. FM music currently very popular in India.

www.Meds.md Online Pharmacy?

www.AtlanticCity.AC No idea, just really like the domain.

www.written.com I am book collector so I would like it to be a used or rare book/manuscript/etc store but I am open to other ideas dealing with written materials. Maybe even an editing website.

Please pm or preferably e-mail me ideas and portfolios as well as price(s).

Again, I will pay well for the right idea and ability.

Thanks

Mark

Sorry, no concrete tasks...

I am open to anything that interests me. I know that seems broad, and may not be the type of work that some of you are looking for, but if I knew precisely what I wanted to do with the domains I would have paid someone to do so already.

looking for the idea and the development I guess.

One more thing, not looking for sites built with a website builder.

Ahhhhhh.... A customer who doesn't know what he wants...
Worst kind ever.

thanks for your two cents Midano, was that really necessary?

Anyway, even though my request is broad I don't see a problem posting it.

If developers are interested, they contact me, if not interested, they ignore the post. Don't see how I am hurting anyone.

Thanks for those that have responded, I am in the process of replying.

mtomich, Midano sayd right thing... You don't know what to do with this domains, but you wants to get some good ideas and guys who can do it for you... Its unusual situation, you know?

I agree it is an unusual situation, but ignorance is not the solution. Anyway, maybe I will just delete the post, not trying to irritate anyone.

All I am saying is that I want a few websites built and if someone could provide the idea along with the design I am willing to pay anywhere from xx to xxxx depending on time and complexity.

Sorry, nothing personal, just years of experience.

When a customer (you) can't explain what he wants, a developer (me) ends up on "trial and error" path. I design and code, you don't like. I redesign and recode, you don't like again. And so forth. Fine by me if you keep paying every time. Trust me - been there, done that.

Since then, the only acceptable way to build a site is as follows:

1. Reach a verbal agreement with the customer.
2. Sign a contract. Two major points: a) 50% (minimum) of the total price upfront. b) The customer MUST provide detailed specifications within 2 weeks of signing a contract. The specs must include EVERYTHING - color scheme, list of all pages, all functionality (click a button - what happens? forms - what fields are required? etc.), full text of all verbatims... Stuff like that. If the customer fails to provide this within 2 weeks - I reserve a right to back off and keep the deposit (actually done this once after waiting 4 weeks). If a customer gets new ideas AFTER the specs were provided and the work started - these changes are billed on top of the agreed amount at $80-$100/hour +.
3. Deliver the result.

All you have on your plate is a domain.

Midano- Customer (not me) I have not purchased anything off of you.

Thanks for your thoughts though, understood, sorry you have had troubles in the past.

I agree that everything must be understood up front, not the first time I have done this either.

Believe it or not, developers/designers have helped me think up ideas and develop those ideas into sites before, but I understand that some designers want explicit instructions and do not want to be a part of the brainstorming stage.

Anyway, I could respond further, but I will not.

If you want to complain about โ€œcustomersโ€ like me I would greatly appreciate it if you started another post, for I really do want a few sites designed and would like to devote this posting to that topic and only that topic.

Those that are interested please send me an e-mail (preferred) or pm me.

THANKS!!!

@Midano:
designing is more than just following instructions! it's having your own ideas; putting those ideas in graphics, be original!
evereyone can design but not evereyone has the capability to "improvise" ...

Well, I do design MY OWN ideas and projects.
Working for a customer is a totally different thing. Real life example:
I asked a customer what he wanted on his "About Us" Page. The reply was "I don't know, you're a developer, write something". I don't know a squat about his business. Neither do I care. That was 3 years ago. The page is still blank.
