Hi all,
We have a yoga apparel website that we are in the process of revamping.
At the moment we use a 'bought' shopping cart that is part of our hosting package.
What we dont like about this is the fact that when people are checking out they are taken away from our website to check out and the url in the browser bar changes.
The cart is good but thats a real bummer for us....
This, to me is not very good for customer confidence as I would be suspicious of this kind of thing myself.
Our product range is not very big at the moment, about 12-20 products in all. However, we are looking to expand and so should our product range.
We want a shopping cart that intergrates seamlessly into our website, it has to be easy to use, not 5 or 8 pages to the final click for placing the order.
At final checkout we want a 'popup' to appear that says something like 'You may want to try our pants whaich will go with your top' kind of thing. This function should be easy to switch on and off and be easy to configure depending upon new stock.
We have new stoch every 'season'
We do 3-4 'seasons' a year
Basically, our cart should be so easy to use that even if you have never seen the English language you should still be able to shop with us.....
It has to be secure as people will be using their credit cards.
2-3 pages max to final click for order.
A cart button on every page of the website so you can see at a glance what you have in your basket.
A stock control facility that automatically updates our stock so if someone wants to buy our blue pants but we only have red and green left the customer will be informed of this and given another option.
We ship internationally so there has to be several choices of shipping.
A bulk buy discount facility that automatically kicks in above a certain dollar amount.
Able to shop in USD, Euros, and Sterling pounds (Our default currency will be Singapore Dollars) or be able to convert the amounts into this currency, automatically linked to that days exchange rate.
A database to store customer details, name address, what they ordered. Are they a repeat buyer?
Be able to store these detail if the customer wants to so the next visit they dont have to fill out all their info again.
This means that customers can have a password that lets them into their own account, maybe with a facility for them to be able to see what they have purchased in the past. (This is not decided yet)
Basically, a fully functional cart that is easy to use, attractive to look at and facilitates a quick check out.
Anybody done this kind of thing?
Please include recent projects and recommendations, contactable if possible.
We are willing to spend the money to get a fantastic job done by a professional who is willing to commit to a timeframe for job completion.
