Need some advice please, i'm confused..

Anyone please give me some points needs to consider when picking or making of a good and professional logo?

1) Very plain
2) Brief but right to the point
3) Pretty, eye-catchy
4) Rememberable
5) Relating to your subject (i.e, you wouldn't put a soup bowl on a logo for a web-site dedicated to web-masters, unless the site is something like codesoups.com or boilingcodes.com)

simple when you think it's simple enough make it even more simple and then make it more simple. and make it eye-catching, and of course make it in a vector program
