Loading content in a cell

I've attached a sketch of the site I'm working on.
I used cells for the layout
What I'd like to know is how to load content (html file, pictures...) in the "Main area" without loading all other cells again

Basically, how to change the content of a cell at a click of a button.

IF you want to stick to simple html, then inset an Iframe in the main cell, and point all links to the Iframe.

yeah, simply use an Iframe or you could do PHP include.
