Hi,

Does anybody have any experience in .la domains?

These are (wrongly) being marketed as Los Angeles' extension.

I own sid.la and was wondering if LLLs have been fetching any $$$ in the .la extension.

Depends on the keyword.
Ex. sex.la will fetch low/mid XXX

I sold css.la and html.la for $200 (combined.) The guy still hasn't done anything yet, and css.la still goes to my site.

sex.__ will get $x,xxx in (almost) any extension.

There are probably thousands of LLL's still available in .la, so unless you find someone who really wants that, it won't go for much.

Because it is wrong, and that's a fact not an opinion. .la is the country code for Laos.
I'm not saying it's morally wrong, I personally couldn't care less (it may help increase the value of some names in the future- so since I own some that's a plus), it is factually wrong.

Offering the same functionality as a .com address and sanctioned by the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), the internet's de facto governing body, .la addresses will be available to all Los Angeles residents and businesses.

Well known brand names such as www.yahoo.la and www.rolex.la and in this City of Stars many personal names like www.madonna.la and www.arnie.la are already registered.

The Guernsey-based LA Names Corporation (LA Names) has recently assumed responsibility as the operator of .la in a long-term deal with LANIC, a department of the Government of the Lao PDR, who were originally assigned the name by ICANN.

extensions are flexible eg .tv is for a south sea island chain but in effect can have great value for media companies.

I live in SC...so I bought my home town.... .sc Just because I wanted to tell my
friends to go to our town .sc. Everyone thought it was cool! Will it ever take off?
Who know? I like it!

Sorry got off topic... LLL.la. It is only worth what someone is willing to pay...right now. But, you never know...in 5 or 10 years??
