Approximately 2555 LLL.in remaining. Lots of regs from Norway ;)
but also Russia and the United States -- not as many from China over the last 24 hours.

Recent list attached (underestimates by about 30 names due to my scanning method).

Norway? Then the Vacuum must be around :hehe:

but why do people have the sudden urge to buy LLL.in ?

A lot of people think .IN has a big future.

I read that the .in registry doesn't allow two character .in to be registered, for example JS.in or 57.in or A3.in

There are only 676 possible L-L.in and 100 possible N-N.in, and 260 each of L-N and N-L, so these are even rarer considering you can't buy a pure two character .in

What makes LLL.in and other good .in worth registering is the size of India's population and the fact it has good growth forcast for internet use and business.

Short .in domains are also good for mobile sites (quick to type into a mobile), and mobile use is high in India.

J and K might also be considered premium letters for India - any thoughts?

Has anyone done a scan today? Either my scanner is messed up or we've had very, very few registrations in the last 24 hours (like zero).

Good point. I hadn't thought about it, but some non-premium letters might actually be premium for India. V might be another. I think there are at least 3 cities with over a million population, that start with the letter V.

Yoink -- grabbed it. Thanks. Rep attempted. I really should be paying more attention to the drops. Checked my records. Last unregged LLL.in starting with an "a" was purchased on November 3, 2007.

Now that the number of domains is small, I often use registrar whois searches. For instance, Moniker allows 500 at a time.

If there's a buyout, then the names will likely immediately have greater than reg fee value. A buyout is likely within XX weeks or X months. I think they will devalue rapidly about 90 days from renewal (since the renewal is likely to be around $13).

Hi Jagusa, thanks for the reply, I knew about Moniker Bulk whois but I`m not sure if checking 500 in a row will still produce correct results. If the IP is banned , using the Moniker whois will result in a fake "not available" result.
Do you know how many queries per hour or per day we can do over the .in ?

Thanks

Not sure. About 500/day seems about right. Since I cached all the whois data for LLL.in, I now only run scans for the fraction likely to change between scans.

italiandragon said:

There's a recent LLL.in list on the "LLL.in -- next to fall?" thread. Through it into a text editor and you should be able to quick cut out the domains with "Q".

Good luck!
