domain LLL.eu auction

Our company is in an auction for a LLL.eu that ends today. The LLL is a word, some of you may know because we thought we had won it hands down in the landrush, but good ole Pool...

In any event, we are trying to figure out our maximum bid. Right now it is high xxx.

Is the .eu market worth going to the x,xxx level?
How fast could one turn around a LLL.eu?

We have been watching sedo and some LLL's are getting some pretty good traffic and bids.

Eurid just mailed me in response to an inquiry I had about selling a .eu domain and told me that it is illegal to sell a .eu domain and if I did they would take juridical action,

I am baffled.

Is that because your regg'd it with them? This is a Pool auction and I think we can push it if we want to sell it.

Illegal to sell an .eu domain? In that case, do you mean we couldn´t sell an .eu domain to anyone at all? ...not even to an european company / individual?

Please could you post the email you received from Eurid?

This is issue of the day and is intrinsically linked to the value of .eu domains. I saw one of the LLL.eu's pool got for me go to somebody else in auction for $1100 (gel.eu) now I was massively gutted at the time, even though I think it was too much money for the name at present (speculative investment), but with the rumours flying around about Eurid not being happy with tranferring .eu, I am starting to think it was a blessing in disguise!

Highest I've seen so far was over $3000. I can't justify that sort of money in current circumstances. If you want the domain for your business, bid whatever you can afford/ its worth to you, but as an investment to sell on I think there are safer bets on where to put your money.

It was allowing me to see the bidders ID in the begining and then later in the auction, that function was not availabel....but I did see Dr. Pool bidding. There were over 30 bids.

I think Pool is riggeed... :imho:
