At least 90% of the LLL.com sales are just trades back and forth between domainers at reseller prices.

Personally I don't know that they were ever that rare, always seems to have been a lot for sale.

I do think more came onto the pile during the boom (esp 2007/early 2008) with all the mass spamming, domainers actively trying to buy everyone out to flip. (ie people who may have owned one for a decade selling out to a domainer).
