As an acronym, I don't think they have any more value than L-LLL or LLL-L.

With keywords, I guess it just depends on where you want your dash.

I agree there are some meaningful websites with these out there. The highest sale that I know that of for one of these is ba-hr.com $2,288 it links now to a Scandanavian Law Firm. However, sales like these are very rare and are from endusers, most domainers do not see any value in them at present as their are too many available at reg. fee. Further, I feel it will be many years before these are all registered as there are 1,370,388 possibilities for 4 Letters/ 1 Dash (which might also mean that they'd never be considered rare.)

The traffic depends on how your site is ... as in my example ( dl-eu.com ) it is easy to remember and it has a meaning ...

These types of names can actually do pretty well for parking and clicks, since they get the 1-click landers at Parked.com (for example).
