Is link wheel good for SEO?? in past link wheel give good results but what do you think in the era of social media will this work?

1) Google doesn't like them (see the links in mis_chiff's post)
2) In the past year, Google has been aggressively making major algo changes to try to weed out things they don't like.
In other words, to whatever extent they still work, their days are numbered. And if you have weak content and/or an ad-heavy site, probably won't help much anyway.
Cause they are holding a monopoly on advertising?
Because too many people people complained about the spammy sites that appear in the SERPS because of contrived linking schemes like link wheels.
Why not try and do something interesting? Why not try and create something people might actually want vs trying to trick them ... people will just link to you if you do something worthwhile
I don't have a problem (too much) with ads when the content is relevant. Link wheels are created because you're too effing lazy to create decent content.
Create decent content and it DOESN'T matter what Google does to their algorithm to weed out crap.
