Hello,

I found a couple PR8-10 web sites that are dropping in the next 30 days.
They all have high link popularity, but the problem with the domains is that links can only be found in google.
Domain 1: has links on 3-' companies
Domain 2: has links on 3-4 different companies
Domain 3...etc

when I go the site, view/source and search for the domain (up/down, match case not checked) it does not find the link.

Please advise,

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

806,000 linkpop results from one engine and next to nothing from the others usually indicates a flaw in the process used to check links.

For example, checking link pop on a domain like "games-yahoo.com" returns hundreds of thousands of results that should be for "games.yahoo.com"

I'm not familiar with names that would report such high results for google alone. You'll have to dig around and see why Google would report those pages as having links.

well it is with several other domains.
all are "normal" english words. no hyphens no numbers.
the other domains have lower link popularity
about 30k
How come they have such a high PR?

The high PR would be a direct result of how many inbound links Google "thinks" the domain has. Sounds like a Google bug reporting the strange link results, but you will still be able to use that to your advantage.

PR is a page-ranking algorithm devised by google, based on how many inbound links there are, the quality and PR of the referring websites, and other secret google formulas. It appears to have some effect on how well a webpage is ranked within google search results. A high-PR site is difficult to develop. For these reasons, a high-PR website is valuable.

For more info, go to google and read through their FAQ.

hey,

expired domains dont work now, unless u are lucky
google will not credit the old pr, and all incoming links are not counted. that might be why.. they started doing this after 2001.

pr 8 is pretty high profile, almost impossible to go above that unless you are cnn . even about.com other huge sites only pr 8.
i think google has discounted the expired pr.

if u interested i hvae few pr 5, 's websites, if u want buy., can change the keywords and get a good ranking, usualy 5 or 6 will get u in top 10 if your site is optimised

This is sometimes the case and sometimes not. I've bought many domains from drops and was able to maintain the search results and see no change PageRank, so long as a site was put up immediately.
