Link Directory PHP code

Hi

I wonder if anyone could tell me where I can find the code or tutorial for a very simple Link Directory using PHP and MySQL? All I can find are the large overblown ones, oh and I can't pay money, as I don't have any.

I am really fed up with going round and round with this, I have installed loads of versions of link directories, but I know a bit about coding so I am sure I can do it myself without puting loads of files on my server and having to modify someone elses overblown directory.

yes I've tried a few there, but I just never find the right thing, thanks for the reply though, perhaps I should have another look
