Excellent idea! I can see alot of support fom the web development community to help get it kicked off. After you get your first "sponsor" (ie GoDaddy) , things should line up for you and due to novelty of concept, the publicity will follow. Keep us posted.

Sounds nice but as some post replies point out, it may have a few problems.

I think the idea about pointing it to a contributors website is the way to go, lest some 'bugger' starts seeing $$$ in his eyes.

Have it set up as an automatic auction. People can bid at the site for the next weeks privilage, for instance.
