Life Sucks!!!

I'm at home ATM recovering from knee surgery. recovery is going well and I thought I would be ready to go back to work by the end of next week.

Unfortunately I received a call from my employer this morning, telling me I have been made redundant due to the current financial climate.

I'm somewhat shattered to say the least and I think I've gone through every conceivable thought so far in the last few hours.

At first I was calm...fine, I thought....shit happens.
Then I was bitter. I have been employed there for quite a number of years, so it hurt.
Now I'm just in the highly depressed stage because this couldn't have come at worse time. Christmas is just around the corner, the mortgage is a heavy burden and I worry about what will happen to my four children if I don't get a job sooner rather than later.

Sorry to unload but right now I think life just sucks big dogs balls ATM

Good luck, all you can do is move forward at this point.
Get out tomorrow morning and start looking for a job in your field.
everything will be alright, You just need to stay positive at this point.
dont stay on the couch wondering how your going to find a job.
Go out and make it happen for your children.

That stinks, but look at it this way it's an opportunity to find a better job. With the skill you have (printer right?) & the years of experience, I'm sure you will find a new position in no time.

Jason mate, That sucks.

I'm not getting a lot of work lately either, I feel your pain on a tiny scale.

I wish you the best of luck and know you'll find a better job :]

Ah, the dreaded lay off. There's not much more frustrating than getting laid off. Be that as it may, you're a skilled guy, printing is still a decent industry and you shouldn't have much of a problem getting a job - i hope.
In the meantime, if your unemployment benefits are good and the company maybe offered you severance or you're getting PTO paid out, you should be ok for a while. In the meantime, focus on your success, the company that you contributed to being successful, has obviously not seen your extended value.

Jason,

Sorry to hear about that, you have ALL rights in this world to be pissed off(anger management classes style!) ....

You will make it, you have the experience and attitude...how about getting self employed right now...especially in these hard times there could be a huge opportunity for you....

Besides that, is it legal in Australia to lay someone off when he is sick/recovering?

Anyway, hang in there...and you will be able to buy christmas gifts for your kids, i can feel it! :)

Cheers

Frank

It could be worse....

My stock portfolio is down 40% since last Wednesday. Lovely, isn't it? The house I rent has gone into foreclosure because the firm that owns it has gone bankrupt. I just broke up with my girlfriend of 3 years, and I'm graduating college in spring. Its hard enough to keep a job in this climate, much less find one.

However, I'm thankful that there are other people sharing their stories. It keeps me sane knowing I'm not alone in this financial catastrophe. I hope things get better for you.... Actually, I hope things get better for all of us.

Sorry to hear you got laid off Jason. This economic downturn is worldwide and it's very worrying because it appears that it may get worse before it gets better. I hope and I'm sure that you will get through it. Maintain a positive attitude. :)

Take care mate!

"life just sucks big dogs balls" Big dogs balls? :D What does that mean, besides the obvious? :-/

Dont gave up mate ... this is the part of life and show them that you are still one of the best. Just remember one thing -

"An arrow can be sent only by dragging it back. So, when life is dragging you back with difficulties, it means that its going to launch you to the victory."

Best of Luck

I feel for you Jason. It's alright to be angry or something in you case right now.

I pray you'll find a job as much as possible for your children. Good luck.

Don't forget to ask some guidance from above. He's got mercy, you just have to act. :)
