Don't register or purchase a domain without doing
extensive research. Every acquisition must have at least a dozen potential end-users
that you can reach out to. Use
NameDroppers.com and
ZFBot.com to find related domains and check each domain whether it's developed by end-users and if a domain is developed,
check whether it's active or not?
For Example: I will check domains related to 'lfestyle', are there any domains registered with this 'typo keyword' or not. There are a few domains registered which is not good, because the more the domains related to your domain are registered, the more potential leads you'll have! If there will be very few domains registered, much fewer will be developed and being used by businesses. It's still possible that out of very few potential buyers, someone will purchase our domain, because we only need one buyer for our domain.. but there will be much less chance of sale that's why we should only purchase domains with a lot of potential buyers.
Back to 'lfestyle'.. out of about a dozen related domains registered, only one is developed into a website, '
www.healthylfestyle.com'. But the last post on this website was in 2014, you get the point, the owners of the website aren't using it anymore because of a lot of reasons, typo's were used to earn money through PPC, they cannot be brand names (unless they look/sound very cool). According to NameDroppers, there are zero potential buyers for your domain. You can still use Google to find potential buyers but imo it isn't worth it. If you hand registered the domain at NameSilo or GoDaddy, you should grace delete it and get your money refunded.
