With the new LED home Light bulbs coming out in 2 or 3 months... probably a very good domain name.

Good info domain for domestic/commercial market as this type of lighting looks to be a growing industry.

FYI on LED lighting. I have been involved in lighting in one area or another for past 25 years and currently design specialty lamps for furniture galleries and designers. LED lighting will replace 90%-95% of all incandescent and compact flourescent illumination in less than 10 years and perhaps as soon as 5. The technology has been developing for several years and the first LED bulbs were available about 2 years ago. The problem has been getting enough illumination w/ "white" light because filters w/ the three primary colors are necessary to get white. The last led bulbs I sampled (about a year ago) ran blue and were cost prohibitive for normal household illumination. Don't know how far the technology has come since than, but know that the technology and pricing will continue to improve in a manner similar to compact flourescent development . Additionally, the first big manufacturer will be bringing out the first wave of product in 2-3 mos. LED energy consumption is nil and the bulbs will virtually last forever.

I have several LED names, and am a happy camper, although I haven't made a cent w/ them yet.

thanks for the offer. I just got laid off though (10 days before Christmas! Asshats!) and just cannot afford one right now. Im saving up those NP$ things though (way cool idea!) to get another one soon hopefully.

Perhaps when I get the points... I'll keep it in mind :)

Sorry to hear that. 10 days before Christmas! Where's the heart!
Well, I've been there more than once. The last time was about 15 years ago, so after they closed the door on me I went out on my own. I'd like to say that freelancing it is the way to go, but to be honest, it's basically exchanging one set of problems for another and you still have to deal w/ "Asshats". The best I've been able to do, is to keep it going and go w/ the flow and w/ what comes my way. No panacea that I have found other than to look at the cup as half full, accept that life is never gonna be perfect, try to enjoy the little things, and appreciate the shadow you cast when you wake up in the morning. I know it's not all that simple but just wanted to pass on a couple of thoughts and let you know you're not alone out there. Something will turn up. It always has so far. Good luck. Oh, and was just goofin w/ you about tryin to make a sale.:)

Sorry for the delayed reply Grrilla, I didnt read this post till today.

Thanks for the words and thought you put into that man :)
Indeed, things always work out. My wife got a raise today, not much..but for Oregon..well its decent (can you believe this, she has her masters degree in international business and finance and is only making 10 bucks an hour! Oregon Sucks..Never live here!lol)

We have the Baby and seeing as most of what I would have made would end up with daycare anyways, we are pretty much gonna break even in that regard :)

Rarely does a .info excite me..
This is not one..

Anymore, for the most part, the only names I get excited over, period, are the ones that have sold.
If I wasn't involved in the lighting industry, I wouldn't give these names much creedence myself. Maybe this has made me overly biased towards LED names-I have several others. One thing I do know, is that within the next year or two, LED lighting, LED bulbs, clusterbulbs, LED lamps etc. will be receiving alot of attention as the world starts transitioning towards this form of lighting. The big players-GE, Philips, Ushio, et al are already retooling. Time will tell.:)

Doesn't this thread just highlight the value of specialist knowledge - most domainers, me included, probably knew absolutely nothing about LED lighting before this and a few other threads. Hence names worth nothing to us with our level of knowledge can be picked up for peanuts by a person in that industry.

It also highlights the value of patience - the end buyer may not appear today or tomorrow but if the name is sound, even a few year's registration fees may pay off well in the end.

btw, Lee, I have been there as well - although this may not help right now, sometimes what appears to be the worst thing ever at the time can turn out to be a real change for the better.

(I was nearly killed in an explosion 23 years ago and took seven years to recover - clearly at the time life was not a bowl of cherries; now I can look back and honestly believe, because of the changes I went through, it was probably one of the best things ever to happen to me! Keep your chin up - life WILL work out.)

Indeed :)

On your LED topic...

I worked for a company called Newport Corp. in Irvine, Ca. I worked within the R&D Division known as PPA (Photonics Packagin Apparatus. While much of what we did utilised Lasers, LED's ... we knew.. were making very strong inroads in the tech sector.

Not only will these be making strongs points in the home industry (lamps..etc) but expect green lasers and LED's to be coming out. The implications of this are... very amazing.
Green is a color they presume may in fact be able to send information forward in time :)

some say its a sign of the times... I say its the time of the signs.
