domain Landschaftsarbeiten.de sold for $735, how much for the .com & net?

Landschaftsarbeiten.de sold for $735 a few days ago. I saw that this was the only extention taken so I bought the .com & net

Does "Landschaftsarbeiten" mean Landscape Work or Landscape Works by any chance? Both Babelfish & Google Translations seems to confirm this.

There are 327,000 Google pages for Landschaftsarbeiten

Malerarbeiten sounds good. The .com could be somewhere around low or even mid x.xxx for end user. It's certainly a much stronger Keyword than Landschaftsarbeiten.

If you don't know the language you should always check Overture before you register German domains. It is also wise to double check Overture values with Google trends, since Overture will mostly give you the wrong version of singular / plural.

I have no idea about .de names and the German language, but if the name sells in .de, there might be buyers for the .com too. I realize that .de is very very popular in Germany, but the .com is always preferred as well.

In Germany .de is the king,.com comes second. German Generic names are by far more valuable as .de than as .com. Mostly companies that act internationally will want their own name (not generic) as .com as well as .de

As you see, someone prefered to pay a few hundred $$$ for landschaftsarbeiten.de instead of taking the (at the time) available .com
The .com was just worthless for him, he didn't even take it in addition to the .de

I don't think anyone could be interested in IndustrieArbeiten.de.
At least, I would not even take it for reg fee, but you never know.

The same as in the English language, Overture is sometimes just a joke, certainly not the domainers bible. If you have any value at all in Overture and also search volume in Google Trends, then you can consider the domain to possibly be valuable from the generic point of view.

As to OVT, I doubt that now it has any real value for english words, maybe except for keywords with extensions. IMO Keyword Discovery and Wordtracker data are much more realistic. Not sure about german OVT though.

Maybe the buyer of that name didn't know that the .com was available to register

I think the .com should go for the same amount as the .de
especially after the .de is taken...
you made a smart move if you don't mind buying and holding for $xxx because it might take some time before you make a sell.
