wait wait. it's valued at $12K? and sold for $600? why didn't thee owner just pay to list at the top marketplaces? like SEDO or Godaddy? or Flippa?

Never understood this sort of thing? or do I assume too much that all domain owners can afford the $25 "pay to play" domain auction listing at Godaddy? or the $69 paid auction listing at Sedo?

I was the buyer for domain 1.

I am of course completely biased as I won it but I think it's an awesome domain and monitored it for a while and researched it heavily.

The average cost of kitchen remodeling is around $20k a time and the demand to have it done is very high - http://www.homeadvisor.com/cost/kitchens/remodel-a-kitchen/

In addition the domain has a ton of end users who pay big on these sort of keywords and the owner of kitchenremodeling.com is redirecting it to his current kitchen remodelling site so that domain will not be available for other end users to buy. I have also monitored traffic to it since buying and it does get type in traffic which is good to see.

Bottom line is 5 figures to an end user is not hard to see for such a name IMO but again i'm biased. Being in the NJ selling business for some time I am confident with promotion the domain re listed would do 4 figures no sweat.

Kitchenremodeling.com in my opinion is a more valuable domain than kitchenremodelers.com but you will not be able to buy it as it is used already by an end user, so remodelers is a great alternative and it is very brandable - "we are the number 1 kitchen remodelers in xyz, go to kitchenremodelers.com" works well for branding online and offline IMO.

it was my mistake guys, I lost one of the biggest opportunity in my life, yeah, the owner paid only 600$ to acquire it, and I want it so much but it's out of my budget , each time I place a bid, another guy outbid me and the only reason I stopped outbid them is because my budget is so small because I was spend too much $$ in other things!!

I feel bad for you you never know how bad a bidder does or doesn't want a domain but that is life I guess.
I have had many cases when I badly wanted a domain but it went over my budget allocated.

One example recently I was monitoring landsolutions.com and wanted it bad. It went for $7k at godaddy yes $7k that high. I already see within weeks it look like it has sold again as it shows sedo transfer service in whois.
