Wow! Thank you so much guys. I'm a pretty big fan of Killer Whales myself so when I saw this domain I knew I had to grab it immediately. Not to mention, the show Whale Wars isn't doing too bad right now. Thank you all for your honest opinions.

I like the name, and I probably wouldn't hesitate to register it if I saw it available, so I definitely think it's a solid reg. The .info is a good fit, although I have to agree with the value of MicroGuy's appraisal.

I used to own a few animal .info names (some even one word) that I picked up from availables and they never really got much interest. I think I sold each for less than $50, mostly developed into minisites, so I'm speaking from personal experience here.

You should develop it into a nice looking minisite. I think it could work out well with some unique content, etc. Good luck with it.

With little work (maybe 3 pages) i was ranking in google and made $300-400 from adsense before I let it accidentally drop... domainers here might not value info's for much but I'd say hold onto it

thats probably because he gives realistic appraisals and doesn't raises hopes unlike many others who give funky appraisals just to make the thread starter happy. And ultimately the owner of the name will be dissapointed later.

i see so many xxx - xxxx appraisals here, and weeks later you see the name on auction here starting $1 and sell for $8.

i personally love .infos, but the truth is that they sell wayyyyy under .com / net / org / biz , (even if .info perfectly matches the keyword). infos are hard to sell ! thats a fact ! just review ALL .info sales in the past.
i don't understand why, but this is how it is.

here in germany, infos are much more appreciated than in english speaking countries.

Thank you for you honest opinions. I know that .INFO would never sell as great as a .com/.net/.org so I don't have my hopes that high. Personally, I was thinking low $XX's to mid $XX's resale without development. But, it's pretty easy to make a profit on this domain name either way if you purchased it for only $1. =)

I still say that developed with a lot of researched content (no adsense or other advertising), and prepare a professional presentation. Present it to the school district and/or individual schools in your area as a learning/teaching tool.

The site could be sold or leased this way. I say that because I have a domain/website leased to the shipping port authority where I live. They liked the domain and website, but didn't want to buy it. The domain is an exact match for what they do.
