Here are a few great domains I grabbed a while back where I didn't exactly think through what the heck I was going to do with them.
All are registered at GoDaddy unless specified and are up for grabs starting at the prices below. $1 bid increments. Each auction ends 48 hours after the final bid.
startupbid.com
My idea: I had two ideas for this one, first, a digg-style site using Pligg where visitors share and vote on business ideas, or second, a blog where I post new startup ideas and let people buy them (removing all traces of the idea) for $5 each.
Why I didn't use it: I have other projects with a higher priority than this one.
Expires: 3/21/2009
Starting Bid: $15
resulting.info
My idea: I have no idea what I was thinking, but Estibot seems to like this dictionary domain.
Why I didn't use it: couldn't figure out what to do with it, but it is an excellent investment piece.
Expires: 5/25/2009
Starting Bid: $15
bloglabels.com
My idea: Not really sure what I had in mind for this one. Some kind of labeling thing for blogs?
Why I didn't use it: didn't have a clear idea of where to go with it. If you don't want it I suppose I can always toss together something using the twitter search api.
Expires: 7/29/2009
Starting Bid: $25
caffinate.me
My idea: A blog and online store for fresh roasted coffee.
Why I didn't use it: decided to use wichitacoffee.com instead.
Expires: 7/17/2010
Starting Bid: $30
portablename.com
My idea: I run an OpenID server at portable.name and had quite a few members typing in the wrong domain. I registered the corresponding .com to keep their login credentials safe.
Why I didn't use it: I am using it but don't see any reason to pay for their stupidity.
Expires: 8/1/2009
Starting Bid: $30
bxtch.com
My idea: I have no idea what I was thinking here either, I just liked the name. Something along the lines of a blog for MySpace codes I think.
Why I didn't use it: couldn't get my little sister to run the site for me, and MySpace revealed the new layout system.
Registrar: NameCheap
Expires: 5/3/2009
Starting Bid: $25
I am also thinking about offering imagepng.com which Estibot says is worth $2100. It currently hosts a TinyURL-type image service similar to TwitPic.com, and is getting traffic. Anyone interested in the domain and/or site can PM me.
