My search criteria/method:
1. Take eNom's current day's Drop List
2. Filter to the following sub-lists:
a. three-char domains
b. keywords - repub, gop, democrat, domain, host, nerd, rabid, pimp, herb, credit
c. four-char .coms
3. Visually eliminate many keyword domains
4. Process list after 2PM ET
5. Register What I want, Post rest here.

If I target any for the next day, I set my little script to snag them for me, and it's a home-brew script! And it does work!

My hit list for tomorrow:

5RD.COM
5TG.COM
7YG.COM - HIT
9IJ.COM - HIT
A4R.COM
JIF.NET
M1H.COM
NT5.COM
O56.COM - HIT

Hi Rabid Nerd,
do you choose Enom's droplist by accident or because you have cause to think that it is the best one available?

because it's the most convenient would be my best answer...

I'm always playing in my eNom account so it's right there, in a nice, text format.

Plus it's free.

I make no claims as to it being the best by any means

Good general strategy, Herb. I bet you'll find more than a few gems with it.

A enom script I guess ? Can I just ask which language did you use to write it ? And if you catch something of course ?

i basically just pulled apart eNom's reg script, put it into a single file, made it start doing a Check -> Buy if avail

in PHP using a cron job and a 1.1 second pause between commands.

Not the most sophisticated by far..

I had created a auto-reseller script too but in the end I just broke down and bought one for a couple bucks..

But hey I'd be willing to throw my measely little script against the big dogs for the hell of it for giggles.

I have some ideas on how to get more queries/attempts - more than one account with eNom = more than one query per second?

maybe I should just break down and buy a drop script too but hey this way is more fun

I like home scripts And I played with the eNom API in PHP too...
Good idea to have more account to have more query, but maybe eNom checks IP access too

I remember that I already saw somewhere a detailed description of the enom restrictions concerning their API, unfortunately I don't remember where it was.
More reseller accounts definitely should allow more queries.

But I could imagine that your API-requests might be ineffective during enom club drop backorder attempts for the same domains. What do you think?
