First post/question ..
A newbie to domain monetization ( eh, kind of .. kinda not). I guess I am but a hobbyist of some odd 10 yrs ... just seemed to be cool to register domain names that I liked. Up until 2 months ago, the bulk of these simply sat in lala land.
I tried sedo but nothing there really interested me .... kinda sucked to be honest and so, the names just sat. About 2 months ago I tried DS ... suddenly my eyes were opened -> over $1,800 in less than 2 months.
So now I am intrigued ... I already am not interested in sedo ... but what of fabulous?? Any input/history/comparisons?
DS landing pages kind of, uh? suck ... but it seems to work. Fab seems to have more options/customization ... but DS is coming out with ... ? something?
I am pretty content with what has transpired with DS .... but is the pasture a bit greener @ fab? Or elsewhere?
Many thoughts/questions ... are better results ( results being money) obtained by serving up your own pages? ( I have most of the same accounts as these folks ... google, findwhat, kanoodle, searchfeed, revenuepilot etc ..)
So what is better? 60% of 60-80% ... or 60%? Weird thoughts abound.
Plus why doesn't the "created" landing page, for *EVERY* site include a link to be "listed"????? Searchfeed, Kanoodle, FindWaht and others do allow you to gain a % of deposits for new clients ..... is this not a major overlooked pc of revenue for us??? Should we not be allowed to profit from new advertisers on our domain ... that we brought in?
JustAnother trying to comprehend what is going on ... and how to feed the gang while doing so.

Let's see here...
DS = Domain Sponsor.
Fabulous has been getting rave reviews on here, although I have not made the jump from DS at the moment, as I'm scared just to let the DS revenue go :)
Although I must admit, Fabulous's landing pages are much more straightforward and I think would lead to a higher CTR%.
Sedo's parking generally leaves something to be desired on the PPC/CPC side of things, but very little is better for selling domains, IMHO. Some people get great results parking at sedo, I just happen not to be one of them.
If DS came out with a better "for sale" option, they would probably gain a larger market share overnight. Fabulous's for sale option is solid (Just in that it's clear, straightforward, and noticable), but I haven't heard too much about their record in regards to "supporting sales" after the fact (I haven't heard anything at all, not anything negative).
I will probably be moving a position to Fab to see how things go, and I might suggest you do the same (For the sake of experiment, can't hurt, y'know?).
If you do move a position over, report back and let us know how the $ compares :)
Best of luck,
-Allan
