Joomla Query

Recently I have heard in many Articles that Joomla is a new Technology to create Web Designs very easily. I am not an expert to this Development but know the Programming Languages like C, Java, VB.Net, SQL Server and tagging with HTML and JavaScript. Will I be able to make designs with Joomla, and upload it for myself?

Also, please provide some useful links to Joomla Tutorials, as the links I get from Google are not giving sufficient Information. Please Help

Joomla is more of a framework than a language, technically its classified as a cms. Designing for joomla is not for the faint hearted basically because you have to first get your head around the various aspects of the cms before you can even start designing.

Though there are tons of premade templates available, making rapid deployment easy enough, see http://www.jooms.com for more info.

Thanks for that Advice Samit. So, all I have to do is study some stuff about CMS and start going through the tutorials in the link you have provided, right? I wil do that, since I am very much interested in going ahead with Website Designing.
One more question. If I am planning to give some companies, the work to develop the website for our Family Tree, which must have all details about my family and must be able to upload photos, just as we do in Orkut or Facebook, which one will be the best?
Joomla or PHP? I would be grateful if you can explain a bit.

There are ready scripts available for family tree software, and if its just one family tree, why not do it in html? jmo

And as far as learning goes, the best way is to implement a test server and play around with that.

You tend to learn much more.

Thank you for your support. I am planning to make a good family Website. So, the features that I would like to add are:
* Complete History of the family which has 52 members all together now
* Individual Profile for each member which each one can organize themselves.
* Upload photos of Events that happen in Family
* Option for Discussion about topics
* Also needs to include details about our business Organizations to that.
* Include an option to send some gifts to members (Shop Gifts) - Optonal
* Dynamic Growth with addition of new members by Admin
* Attractive layout and Design to make the website active

Will I be able to do all these stuff in HTML and alone???
If yes, is there any tools to make my job simple for the perfect layout of the website (Inserting pictures and text in the point I want to place)?
How much cost will be needed if I entrust the task to a third person company for Web Hosting?

You may want to look for a family tree script, or you may want to look at a Joomla extension if you are going to go the Joomla route. It may not be exactly what you want, but it may also save you a lot of time and money. Otherwise, I would search for someone on the forums that can help you with the project you have.

Before you give anyone work please make 100% sure you see samples of previous work and know that the person has a reputation for on time and on budget delivery, there are 100s of cases where people outsourcing work get burned.

I suggest you do some research and find out the best script for your requirements and if you need installation and configuration help, you can ask here again if you don't understand anything.

not using any outsource cuz i think joomla is simpliest CMS ever..
