Javascript menu help needed

I was wondering out how to make a menu that when you roll your mouse over a image a menu glides down. does anyone know how to do that?

I would probably use a simple slide transition effect for that.

Scriptaculous is easy to use/install, but I prefer to use YUI for all effects / events.

Yahoo also has some nice guides for starting effects like this in their design patterns library.
