Accept it. That seems a very decent offer.

I would counter this offer and see what happens. This domain might have interested somebody from France because it's a french word as well, and the market is very strong there.

how much does sedo subtract from a .me domain sale?

As stated this is the french word for 'Pay'.
The english version: 'pay.me' is in my opinion worth a tidy amount so I think you would be selling this very cheaply if you let it go for $150.

Just out of interest where is the buyer from? If the offer is through sedo you will be able to see the country of origin in the "Offers received".

a lot of bad domains sell for incredible amounts. it doesnt mean anything. what it proves is that if you're going to buy any domains in bad extensions, make sure they are hyper-premium words. if you're going to buy them. if.

accept that offer asap. i wouldnt think twice on it

Well, there is really no comparison. I don't think there is any correlation between the value of Pay.me and Payer.me. They are not even in the same league IMO.

Still, I would probably hold out for more than $150.

Pay.me just sold for over $11K on Sedo (along with Rock.me and Test.me for similar amounts).

Just FYI.

They are if you're French. Payer is the unconjugated French verb for "to pay," as mentioned up-thread. Is it worth as much as the English version? That's up for debate, but it's certainly worth more than $150 if the English version sold for $11k.

What exactly is the demand for french words in .ME? I have seen virtually no demand for US words in .ME other than the cream of the crop hacks, nevermind a french word.

I know nothing about .ME frankly. My only point is that the word itself is not meaningless.

That's right. Pay.me makes sense as a sentence in English ("Pay me"), but "Payer me" in French doesn't make any sense. I would accept it or send it ot auction to see what happens.

Well, that's true -- to be a complete facsimile, it'd have to be payer.moi :p I don't think it has to be a complete facsimile to have more value than $150 though. Particularly since many French people are also English-speaking and most would recognize what "me" means. However, if French words in this extension are underperforming then that says something too.

I guess someone who knows French would be helpful here :]

but I think that this domain makes sense with .me - there are
237 000 French pages with "me payer" in Google.fr. The French maybe using the different order of words.
But French-speaking NP members can tell us for sure :bah:

"Me" does have a proper use in French... In that construction the use of "me" is correct -- "me payer" would mean "to pay me." It's considered a reflexive verb, where some action is reflected back upon yourself. For instance, things like Je me lave ("I wash myself"). I don't think it would be grammatically correct to reverse it (like payer me -- instead you'd use a conjugant like payez-moi ("you pay me").

College French coming back to me.
