I went looking for a good/very good .com today.

Specifically...

Domain_______.com

I just "picked words off" - I did not use any domain tools...

THEY ARE HARD TO FIND!!!

The question is: Are they a good investment - generally???

But many people do domian business with their domain____.com.

Yes, it is very hard work today. Look for emerging new technologies or trends.

Your best bet is finding a halfway decent one and then working a brand idea around it.

Yup, the industry has been around for so long that it is very hard to find a good or valuable name. Listen for news and search for upcoming technologies instead.

Great domain, Mike. Congrats on the find.

As an added (albeit late) suggestion, watching the "boards" (such as right here at NP) there are often domain___.com domains that go up for sale, and they do not always cost an arm and a leg.
