Iv'e built a web site based on a tv program. Its got news, videos, a forum and so on.

I don't want to reveal too much, in case its not allowed, but look at this way.

For example, i get the domain 'simpsonscentral.com', with pictures (screenshots), brief clips, news and updates as well as reviews. is this breaking any copyrights?

And do i need to put a disclaimer, privacy policy or something? If so, what do i put in it.

Fansites are protected if done properly. Yes, a disclaimer is needed and I would be careful of clips. Jsut make sure there is no commercial or monetary gain, that is where you could be affected.

It would be viewed as commercial gain. And if that is the reason for having the site, then it is not a labor of love, which fansites are supposed to be.
