So the other day I was searching some of my domain names on Google. Just to see what comes up when I type "the name".

I was searching my domain name ArtfulIdeas.com and found some design website that doesn't even own it's own Domain Name.

So ... I decided to forward my domain name, ArtfulIdeas.com to there website.

Now, about 2 weeks later, when I type , artful ideas, with no quotes in Google, my domain name comes up in the #4 spot and the websites owners info shows up.

Am I going to gain PR from this?
Is this wrong/illegal?
Do you think the site owner would care, no I havn't bothered to ask yet.

What'cha think?

I think you will get fake page rank from this.

wrong: I guess only if you try to sell the domain based on the fake PR?

illegal: I doubt it

site owner: hard to say, you can redirect any of your traffic domains to one of my sites anytime you like :p

What'cha think: personally i wouldn't do it, I'd put up a minisite, get some real PR and by the sounds of it a very good serp

Looking at Google cache, it seems you got the ranking from the parked page you had on it, and not the site it's pointing to now.

If my guess is right, your domain will drop from the Google rankings entirely as soon as their spiders notice it's just a forwarding link.

What is the difference in PR. What if that was my site, and I was just forwarding the name to it, then would it still be "fake" PR?

Regardless of who owns the site, PR drops from a domain name after being sold eventually anyway, or am I wrong?

I don't every market my domain names with PR status listed anyway so I'm not worried about that, I'm certainly not trying to scam anyone, just doing a test:)

it does not matter if it is your site or someone's else. If you don't have a real
page behind it, simply forwarding your domains, the domain will not have PR.
But your webpage will have PR.
