is it worth it getting .dev domain?

I'm thinking about a new domain name and .dev domain looks really cool but I heard some things about it - working only with ssl and so on. what do you know about this domain and it's set up - is it worth getting one? and from where it's best to get it?

I think it’s definitely worth it, since it supports the great and terrible Google himself, so decent prospects.

Indeed, ssl is required for .dev and .app domains - but this should not stop you as most of the control panels out there like plesk, cpanel, webuzo and more offers the possibility to add a free one from Let's Encrypt.

If you are not creating a website that has something to do with development, then I do not see the point to be honest. You can get another tld that fits your needs more.
