Is it possible to make a subdomain from any domain

something just came to my mind.

Is it possible to register like a country name and then make a subdomain from it.


lets say, sex.de, and then make a subdomain sex.com.de ??

Is that allowed?

Anybody know?

A subdomain comes behind the name you registered so you cannot register a name like sex.de and stick something in front of it.

For example, I have casts.tv. I can't make casts.com.tv but I can make names like:

pod.casts.tv, web.casts.tv, news.casts.tv and so on.

but what about all the poeple which already registered domains like xxxxxxxxxx.co.uk or xxxxxxxxx.com.xx

Wouldn't there be sort of a conflict?

technical: no conflict

but there you can get problem if you use for exp. tm for your subdomain

btw. com.de is not posible because no tld's under .de

That wouldn't be a subdomain. If you owned sex.de, the subdomain would be SUBDOMAIN.sex.de

Technically, you can promote them as WHATEVERYOUWANT.sex.de

hot.sex.de
teen.sex.de
love.sex.de

com.cn is taken as an extension already, but ye, you do have the right idea

Technically you could if that was allowed, but if you made a subdomain like Google.com.cn, that's a TM infringement & would put you into trouble

The direct answer to your question is yes you can IF and only IF you can register com.cn.

Can you create a subdomain under that domain? the answer is yes you can. Now the big question is...IS IT LEGAL? NO it is not.
