Is it just me, or are the girls featured in mags like FHM, Maxim, Stuff, etc so plastic looking they make Barbie look real?

C'mon, give me a girl who looks real, looks approachable, and looks like an actual carbon-based (not SILICONE ;) ) life form any day...

Personally, I think those overly madeup wenches be ugliness personified.. D-:

It's pretty bad when I'd rather look at the advertorials in a mag than the women.

Blech...

I prefer the natural look.. the fewer modifications to the original chassis or paint job the better ;)

There's a great scene in About Last Night (starring Rob Lowe and Demi Moore). Lowe's character, Danny, meets a "beautiful" girl in a bar for a one night stand, wakes up next to her the next morning her hair in curlers and jabbering away like a banshee.. good movie!

From another perspective, I'm certain that there are cosmetic treatments to overcome that problem! :kickass:

The girls on these magz was done alot of touch ups on computers like photoshop and all. I seen people who do this kinda stuff for a living.

yes, it's unfortunate..

I worked 20+ years in a photo studio and the retouching dept made a fortune airbrushing out acne, blemishes, moles, stretch marks, etc. Then, alot was done with an airbrush.. now, 99% of it is digital and takes seconds for what we used to take (sometimes) all day to accomplish.

When retouching was finished, it often wouldn't even look like the same person.

There's still beaucoup money to made in restoring old photos (taking out wrinnles, restoring contrast, etc).

I like some of the girls in those mags. They're pretty.

But then again, I love natural girls.

But yeah. Enough about that.

I'd take a girl with a really good personality over the standard Maxim/FHM/Stuff poster girls.. not to say they might not have a good personality, just that I'd rather have someone interesting to talk to than someone who just looks "good".. good looks don't last! Give me cute over "beautiful" anyday.

I agree with that, i'd sooner take a girl with a good personality, than a girl that looks good. Cuz when their 90 years old, they arent going to have those looks any more.

In one of the magazines, they have a before and after picture and personally I usually like the before picture. I always was one for the natural look as well. Although Maxim isn't as bad as some magazines that put them in so much makeup, they can take the most beautiful girl in standard photos and either make her look like a clown or ugly as heck.

Since I love women..I figured I'd post too.

Natural is the way to go. Girls that either make themselves up to be "hot" or are made up that way by the art dept. tend to just seem skanky and unattractive IMHO. It seems like theyre trying too hard.
I'm with dgridley...cute is the way to go. Down to earth and cute....that's where it's at...A girl with class and a sense of style is a keeper.

I would much rather have a average looking woman with a great personality and a sense of humor than a totally hot woman that is a complete ditz, been there done that, no fun, looks are nice but if that's all they got going for them you will find it gets old soon. Not saying that all hotties are idiots, but most do lack a few brain cells, think maybe hairspray causes that. :)

If they shower, don't overeat, and have a good personality, they meet my standards.
