Hi guys, I'm a beginner in this domain selling game and yesterday I received the first email contacting me about my new domain that I bought 9 days ago. The email goes like this:

"Hello! I'm interested in purchasing "xxxx.com" The buyer offers $35000.00 usd. If it's not enough we may negotiate. I've found your address via public WHO IS. If you have other names I may help you to find buyers for them in Japan. Please email me the list. We work with many large investors. Looking forward to your response. Sincerely yours, "his name" , " his company name " , Osaka, Japan."

So I look up his company name on Google, and I found out they deal with hosting and stuff, and they operate in Japan.

I tell him it is for sale, and the price seems reasonable. He replies with this:

I act on the behalf of our VIP client (domain investor) and will help you to sell your domain. The buyer purchases several domains to generate traffic to his new web project.
What is your Telegram user name? If you have Telegram you may contact "I hid his name for privacy purposes" (Telegram user name) at ... (He gave me a Telegram link and This guy has a profile picture on)

He is your buyer.
Our commission is only 6 %. The commission is divided between you and the buyer and paid after you get the money.

The buyer offers 635 Litecoins (about $35000). Litecoin - crypto currency. If it's ok let's proceed. You will be paid in Bitcoins/Litecoin/Ethereum or in USD (Paypal, wire transfer or Western Union). His escrow accepts Litecoin and may convert it to USD if necessary.

The payment to you will be made via escrow service to protect both parties during the transaction. He can only send via escrow. His bank prohibits him to send money direct to avoid scam. It's not safe. The bank requires a certification in Japanese to avoid selling illegal goods to Japan.

We asked him if GoDaddy or Sedo certificates are acceptable. He said no because they don't do legal verification for Japan and don't make copies in Japanese. He contacted he banl and asked which domain agency is acceptable by them."

So, it goes well until he mentions these certificates, which makes me think it's a scam who wants me to use their appraisal sites or something, but I will still wait for his response and see what he says.

I don't have hopes at all right now, since I really think it's a scam, but I still wanted to ask you guys for your opinion. Thank you all in advance.

Appraisal and Certificates required by banks is a huge scam taking on this industry for a long time.

Its a scam, stay away.

Those certificates are not free, they will make you pay for it and you won't hear back from them again.
