Is Afternic down?

The only material change since the acquisition has been the elimination of Vice Names.

Aside from this policy chage - which I knbow many on this board do no agree with - what are your other areas of dissatisfaction?

Pete, we've already been over my areas of dissatisfaction with NameMedia. Since you brought it up, I'll refresh the memories of others. NameMedia offered me $25 for a LLL.com.

I'm curious to know now that NameMedia has acquired Afternic whether Afternic's appraisal services will be valuing LLL.com domains at $25. Or have values inflated? Say $30 now?

Is there anything specific with Afternic that you have concerns with? I'd love your feedback - good or bad.

We will have some meaning full domain marketplace announcements coming ourt late in Q1 that are designed to help with the issue of improving market liquidity - so your suggestions can have an impact on what we are building.

On the issue of maximizing the value of each of your names, my sense is that you would likely achieve the highest valuation by listing your name on a retail marketplace - either with message boards such as NamePros or via a marketplace such as Afternic rather than selling to a wholesale buyer. Not trying to tell you how to run your business, just my two cents worth.

Some improvements would be to have a LEASING feature/option.

It would complement nicely the existing platform (sales/parking).
Plus Afternic already has the eyeballs (website/PPC pages) should end-users land on the parking page (checking what's on the domain) with the 'For Sale', 'For lease' with links to the website.
Did someone say "qualified lead" ?

I hear leasing domains to end-users is quite the thing these days...
