Investigating scammer. Need Whois history!

I posted this on webhostingtalk forums and someone pointed out this might be a good place to ask for help.

Me and a few other people are investigating a scammer and we think they have something to do with a certain domain that's no longer registered. I would really appreciate it if someone with access to whois history could help me with this information!

At the moment this is a covert investigation so I rather not post the domain name in a public thread.

Domaintools may provide cached whois for that particular domain (paid service).
Otherwise try who.is too.

It seems he is looking for someone with paid subscription on the domaintools to help to investigate that.
