I came across this in my researching. MarketSquare.com is owned by Intuit, registered at MarkMonitor, and using ZoneEdit for their DNS, which doesn't resolve I'm just a little surprised that Intuit/MarkMonitor would be using ZoneEdit for their DNS. Any comments?

ZoneEdit is great it allows you to control DNS separately rather than at the registrar. DNS takes a while to propagate around the world so when you change registrars you need main two sets of DNS for a couple of days. With 3rd party DNS the change of registrar is not tied to the website.
The DNS services offered by different registrars varies so using a 3rd party DNS specialist gives a range of services not provided by some registrars.
For example you can have 1 Nameserver in Europe and 1 in the US for faster look ups for respective users in each continent.
You can also do things like backup mail servers ideal if you are running your own Mail Server; Or load balancing for sites that get a lot of traffic etc.
