As you can see, I am a NP Established Member, but in name only. After domaining a couple of months a dozen years ago, though, l was forced to jettison domaining for a more family-caretaking job.
I just hooked up a few months ago with domaining, as l have a bit more free time and still really enjoy domaining. I know, Lew, cut to the chase!
Okay. I just received an e-mail from WildWestDomains telling me my ownership
of “TheRealHousewivesOfAtlanta.com” was about to expire. I didn’t even know I owned that domain, or that the “Real Housewives” series were still on, or that “The Real Houewives Of Atlanta,” which is in its 11th season, is the most-popular of the series.
I couldn’t pull up the domain in my laptop. In fact, l couldn’t pull up the .coms of any of “The Real Housewives” Series—if they exist.
I’m wondering if l should renew my ownership; or if doing so is futile, as l have no legal right; or after a certain time (almost 12 years in my case), some sort of statue of limitations takes precedence.
Back in the day, I know it was majorly taboo to use Proper Names of well-known people or products—unless quite common. However, recently l saw a Flippa display ad touting as one of its primo domain names—Kardashian-Kanye.com.
I immediately went to the NP Domain Beginners section and asked if such a domain name was legal if owned by anyone but KK or KW—or both. I got 97 Views but no answers, which surprised me.
However, ever since, the great majority of NP members have been most helpful although every now and then l do receive a pompous and/or sarcastic reply (like, “Research it yourself, like l did!)
Say what!? Hey, I major in sardonicism, and l can’t help but fight fire with fire—but, by and large, NamePro’s members are definitely Good Samaritans!!!
And thanks for your valuable time—if you’re still here.
Lew
