Well my internet is now 6 and a half times faster than what it was 3 days ago, but what im asking it whether you think I got a good deal. I will show the amount im paying monthly in pounds and dollars.

Monthly Payment £24/$49

This for a 2mb/per second connection if I remember rightly. And I can't find this deal cheaper elsewhere, and I love the new speed, so, did I get a decent deal? :)

ya, it depends on your speed, location etc.

but mid to high 40's is what broadband costs in the US on avg... so 6 times faster is pretty good. is that like T3 speeds or did you have a severely throttled ISP?

yeah £24 is an extremely good price for here in the UK

Out of interest what is the ISP.

Just to let people know I think the fastest broadband available in the UK is 6 mbps but you have to live in London to get it, us mere mortals that dont have to settle for quite a bit lower. The UK is still far behind the likes of the US or Sweden with regards to broadband.

in australia you got a good deal. then again, prices are dropping over the last yr or so. few more months and it will be average

wow. your getting ripped dude.

australia is one of the worst countries for internet access pricing and even e can get dialup for like $10 - $15 unlimited now.

australian ISP's are finally starting to wake up. we are limited to 2mbps but have just got protocols established for our ADSL to go up to 24mbps. we should start seeing in it decent amounts in like 6 months

but just think, that we could get a 6MPS for £43 per month. £1 to us is like $1 to you.

in the UK, most work in Mb, so when you download the download rate should be roughly divided by 8 times to get the KB/MB rate.

actually that sounds about right. you can get 100mbit links in some countries for about that price maybe a bit higher.

im paying £40 (i think i can never remember) for a 2mbit upload, im upgrading to 4mbit soon.

but bandwidth prices in the uk suck. most of the infastructure is copper (adsl links etc) and the range of copper links is pretty crap (standard cat-5e cable only goes to 100m)

Yes here in Canada I have SiS 900-Based PCI Fast Ethernet but for another $12 or so I could get 5 mega bytes per second.....so it would cost me about $45 per month...

thats pretty impressive....
I think in the UK we are rapidly advancing, but still not fast enough when you think that DSL has been around in Germany for about 5 years (av. to everyone)

heh i have the business professional plan through a local company... Armstrong Cable, Zoom Internet i think there tied in with comcast? But i get download speeds around 900kb on limewire, and around 1meg a second from download from websites...

dad also has a t3 connection for research and development, my dad does a lot of that for like 10 lawnmower companies in the usa... mostly toro, arons and stuff like that :P But toro owns a lot of smaller companies like Xmark the lawnmowers landscapers use to cut peoples grass...
