Internet Marketing Strategy

I had to drop my current business advisor because no matter how much I explained to him how a great thing a web based business/Internet marketing can be he still insisted that he has heard it all before and an Internet business will not survive and nobody will ever be able to find your website from a search engine because there are millions of pages that use some of my keywords etc etc. He even told me that he didn't know how to use the net properly, or a computer, yet he is able to say the above?

I need some idea on an Internet Marketing Strategy so when a person reads it that has no or little understanding of the net they can say "ah, ok that makes sense". My biggest downfall is wording things so they sound catchy or clear.

So what are you trying to market/do? Lay out what you have and what youre up against and maybe some folks can help here on the forum. It may also be helpful to others who are looking to do the same sort of thing.
