It is good to know the reasons, something we can talk with our gateway about to see whether we can fix. Thanks for the feedback.

OK, that is really cool to know. We have added it to our development list and I'll let you know once it is there.

Just a quick update here. We have made the changes to our API so that you can get those parameters you were after, the API doc has been updated so let me know if you have any questions using it.

We also changed the way we verify external domains now, we now ask that you delegate the domain to a set of nameservers we control, we then verify and you can then make use of our DNS. Again, let me know if it isn't working for you.

    Cheers for the suggestions @xyo

@Grego85 We have added some WHOIS output to the search results page. If you have time take another look and see if you think it would be useful. Just click on Taken.

Everyone, we have also added support for a number of new TLDs. Our domain investor pricing is below:
    .AI ($62.70) .BZ ($18.81) .CH ($6.01) .CZ ($6.88) .GR ($12.81) .LI ($6.01) .LT ($12.81) .LU ($17.07) .PL ($13.18) .SI ($19.21)

I've been an Internet.bs happy customers for years, my 1st invoices has date May 15, 2010. Not a big customer because not a big domainer here :)

Yesterday I needed support because can't point .it domain's nameservers to Undeveloped. It can be done (example: produzionimusica.it) as @Undeveloped confirmed me. Tried 2 times (sorry for that): live chat and email. Both times all I got was this paste:

    =======
Please check if your nameservers pass validation at this URL dns-check.nic.it
Only if they pass validation you can update them and they will be accepted fine.
Once you update nameservers for a .it domain, the .it registry will check for validation of the nameservers you have updated. If the nameservers do not pass the validation, then they are rejected.
    =======

@Internet.bs from my personal user point of view I'm very disappointed. It should be a matter of typing the right nameservers and press "Save". Why should I deal with the .it Authority tool? Don't you have any interest to fix it so that it can be done smoothly?

If I have understood correctly, this is something that is outside of our control. The .it Registry has rules around zones and they check that the setup of a domain on each set of NameServers meets those rules before they will allow a domain to be delegated to them. That URL (dns-check.nic.it) is a site that the .it Registry has setup so that you can check whether they will accept the redelegation or not, which is why support have sent you there.

If you want to direct message me the details I can check into it further, it might just be a matter of having to wait a few hours for undeveloped.com's server changes to propagate out to the .it Registry. Thank you for being a long time customer!

In the end everything OK: @Internet.bs and @Undeveloped prompty sorted out the issue together. I had great support.

@Internet.bs if instead of writing here I had stopped at the first answer from your support I would have transferred my domains to another registrar, think about it :xf.wink:

Thanks Massimo, our support team actually gave you the correct answer but this was a pretty specific issue.

Nice! Great work. Thanks for considering and implementing this so quick. Been busy a bit lately but already noticed it some time ago and added it to my API client and it's working perfectly.

Saw that too, tried it a few times but always get an email that says: "Status: error" though I have set namesservers exactly as instructed. Though not such a big deal for me currently.

But I noticed something else some time ago which you maybe could have a look at. I have several .DE domains and some of them expired recently.
But the .DE registry Denic has totally unusal rules. Expired .DE by default won't get deleted but transferred to the registry itself, contacting the previous registrant by postal mail then and charging the registrant an absurdly high amount after that.
I was able to sort it out, but as I have more .DE domains, it would be great if you could take a look at it.
Technically, the registrar has to explicitly delete the domain on expiration date, then it will go into redemption.

Also thanks for adding the new ccTLDs, gonna transfer my .li soon :)
    (any plans to add .SE/.NU?)

@xyo Apologies for the delay, was investigating the .de issue. You are right, since .de only added the standard restore process recently we haven't updated our implementation to move away from transiting those names. We will update now and I'll confirm. We are aiming at adding a block of TLDs each month and will let you know via the newsletter. This month it will be the following, I'll look at .SE/.NU next but if there are any manual steps in the registration process we won't add them, we are trying to keep everything simple.

    .CD
    .CM
    .FM
    .JP
    .MX
    .NZ
    .PK
    .SX
    .TM
    .VG
    .WS

    Cheers!

You have to request that we activate the Push feature in your account, from their it is pretty straightforward. You can either DM me your account email or contact our support team and we can take a look.

I am glad Internet.bs has a presence here, maybe they can clarify an inconsistency for me.

It would appear that they do not like people transferring names away from them, so much so that they delete not only that domain but every other recently expired domain as well.

As you all know.. a domain name that is in grace period is still transferable (in most cases.. obviously grace periods vary depending on tld and registrar.. but a domain -in- grace should be transferable as long as its unlocked, the whois email is accessible, and you have the auth code).

Well when I tried transferring a domain that was seemingly still in grace period (it was expired but I could still renew it.. therefore not in redemption..) the receiving registrar advised me they were awaiting email confirmation for the transfer. So I logged into the receiving registrar only to see a peculiar email that was not mine but looked like it belonged to a centralised registry.

I logged into my Internet.bs account to see not only that domain DELETED but another domain that had expired not that long ago also deleted.

I launched a live chat hoping to get some clarification but the chap on live chat had literally NO IDEA about what I was talking about and escalated it to "level 2 support"

Well Level 2 support got back to me and advised me that .cx domains... well here is this persons verbatim response:

".cx TLDs does not have any renewal grace period. All .CX domains must be renewed 9 days prior to the expiration date. There is no grace period for deleting. Your domains were not deleted prior to expiry date due to a small bug in the system. We have fixed that now. If you wish to restore your domain from redemption period then you can restore your domain by paying restore fee."

Obviously I am very grateful to them for 'fixing the bug' and deleting my domains</sarcasm> rather than doing the customer service thing of notifying me of this 'bug' and that if I wished to renew I would need to do so asap otherwise these domains would be deleted.. you know like: "thank you for your enquiry, your domain should have been deleted by now but a pesky bug in the system kept it alive.. as a gesture of goodwill you can renew it asap at the normal price otherwise we will need to delete it within 24 hours".. or something to that affect.. if any of the above is to be believed that is!

Well most registrars that dispense .cx domains DO have a grace period.. Dynadot for instance has a 25 day grace period.. Namesilo has a 33 day grace period.. yes for .cx... it seems Internet.bs is the exception with not only no grace period but you have to set your calendar to 9 days prior to renew.

I realise most people will say they have used Internet.bs for years (as I have) with no problems at all.. people say that about 1&1 as well.. but it is just a matter of time.. Nevertheless they go in the same pile as 1&1 as far as I am concerned..

@mayhemalex Thanks for raising this. This looks like an issue specific to .cx expiry and renewal so you can be assured that generally we don't have a problem allowing domains to be transferred away (unless they are in redemption of course).

I will have to take a look into the specifics but will come back to you (and the thread) with an explanation, will also investigate if a grace can be provided.

@mayhemalex The bug was caused as the .cx Registry (or more accurately the "gateway' that CentralNIC provides to the Registry) which all of the registrars you mentioned use was recently changed and as a result that grace period was changed. It will be the same for all of those Registrars but they may not have made note of the change as yet.

I appreciate your point that we should have notified you that we were "fixing" that bug prior to deleting the names to give you the opportunity to renew the names, if you want to DM me the details of the domain etc. I can arrange renewal with no redemption fees. I have also reached out to the Registry/Gateway provider to ask them to push that renewal date back so that we can restore that original grace, I am sure it is an oversight on their part.

@mayhemalex Check your DM, don't have developers working in the weekend so needed to wait until this morning to get sorted. Should be resolved in the next few minutes.

Thanks for pointing that out. We are switching servers at the moment so it might just be due to that, will look into it now.
