Interesting huge sale...

Now I am curious...its from April and the domain is still parked. Why did someone pay 10K to let zmnm.com stay parked? Scam sale? Negotiations ongoing with a company? Any ideas? It seems strange...and if you are the buyer I'd love to know - just out of curiosity.

Sometimes it's simply worthwhile to acquire a domain to prevent someone else from getting it - the actual use itself is often irrelevant in such instances.

It appears zmnm.com was likely registered by the folks who own zmnm.cn ... the remainder of my comment makes that assumption, though I could be mistaken ...

Hypothetically, again assuming zmnm.cn own zmnm.com too, it makes sense for them have to the .com even if they never plan to use it to prevent someone from doing so; eliminate a potential source of confusion.

As to why it's parked ... perhaps they're measuring its traffic, or more likely, they didn't buy it to use it for anything.

As to why it doesn't redirect ... perhaps they just didn't get around to it, or very possibly, it would be a waste of time if their target audience is Chinese anyways...

A possible related reason is that a redirected .com via many of the redirection services won't resolve properly in China; may bring extra scrutiny - thus again another possible reason for it to point to parking instead of their site.

My hunch, especially since I've been on both sides (that is I've bought domains I didn't utilize and sold some that haven't been utilized), the zmnm.com sale is likely legitimate.
