OK .. so I've used this terms a few times and more often than not people ask me what it is. I thought it was fairly self descriptive .. but I guess not.
Although PayPerClick and parking income has dropped dramatically before I ever really got serious about domaining .. it still is a very relevant term for some domains. Essentially it's:
[Number of exact match Searches per Month] multiplied by the [Cost Per Click value]
So if the exact search term "Baby Blue Bananas" is searched 100,000 times a month and it has a CPC of $10 per click ... then BabyBlueBananas (.com) has a monthly search value of $1,000,000.
[100,000 (exact match) Searches Per Month] x [$10 Cost Per Click] = $1,000,000 Monthly Search Value
QUESTION: I'm curious if anybody else uses this term? Or is there a different term that already exists for the same SearchxCPC value?
Note: that I put the .com in brackets above because it could be anything .. as obviously the actual value of the domain has many more factors influencing it than just Monthly Searches and CPC .. specifically including what the actual TLD is (pretty much the most important factor most of the time). So essentially in this case BabyBlueBananas.com and BabyBlueBananas.net would both have a Monthly Search Value of $1,000,000 .. yet still the .com would obviously have an overall value much higher than the .net.
Disclaimer: I invented numbers for demonstration purposes only .. I'm quite confident that BabyBlueBananas has neither 100k searches a month .. nor anything close to a CPC of $10 per click!
