The Indonesian Internet Domain Name Registry (Pandi) has revealed that the number of ".id" domain users increased by 45 percent in 2019.

Pandi noted that there were 111,059 users in April last year, five years after the top-level domain (TLD) was created. The number surpassed the 110,111 users of the older "co.id" domain name created in 2007.

At the end of 2019, users of ".id" domains numbered 135,812.

Pandi chairman Yudho Giri Sucahyo said the increase could be attributed to the uncomplicated registration of new users.

you dont have to provide company license for registering .id
there is some misleading twist done by some registrar company saying that any indonesian MUST be using indonesian cctld domain while the original wording of the policy were only saying to PRIORITIZING, thats why the .id domain were increasing

@Chairul avif I see that 3-letter .id domains are 15 million rupiahs. Assuming someone is willing to pay that much to register a domain, will they also have to pay above average to renew these domains?
