How much do you think it is worth?

IM = internet marketing.

Originally bought it as a premium name for a forum about internet marketing. Later noticed that there is a forum on imspot.org too - which confirms the fact that the name is appropriate for an internet marketing forum.

Wouldn't mind selling it if I get 2x price of my purchase.

Unless developed with improved SEO, it has very little value.
There is a chance that an end user with a development plan in mind may find interest in this domain.
But chances are slime at best.

There is a chance that the owner of imspot.org forum will want to buy the .com extension for better exposure.
Contacting the owner of the .org is your best chance in selling this domain for $xx or a bit more(depends on the budget of the .org domain owner).
The .org website is popular and receives many unique visitors.

*It may be very hard to sell.
There is a high chance that you will be unable to find an end user.

Resell price: Reg fee
End user price: mid $xx

Good luck

Be professional.
You should edit your post and remove the price that he paid. That's not relevant and professional.
He only ask for appraisal.

I could see you getting around $400-$500 from an enduser. I think IM is known more as instant messaging. The reseller's price is reg fee.
