I have an image hosting site running.. its custom coded.

what is a good way to manage the bandwidth usage?

Such as implementing a bandwidth cap/limit... do you use php/mysql or are there some other feasible ways of doing it?

Limit the file size of images uploaded and you could also limit the number of times the image is allowed to be view per day.

Agreed best to just count the views on the image, via a php/asp script at the top of the image page. Have a cron job or schedule that clears that every 24 or however many hours. If it goes past the limit, just redirect to a page stating the image is unavalible due to bw concerns, or your homepage.
