A buyer says he can't use Paypal in his country, so he wants to pay me for a domain with iKobo. I've never used, nor heard of this service. Can someone please explain what it is and what it's limitations are? Thanks!

AFAIK, they have lower-than-usual fees, but you do end up paying a fee when you withdraw your money from the wall (with an Ikobo supplied ATM card).

Anthony, ask them to use www.e-gold.com , all countries can use and its free to join. Best thing you cant get reversed payments.

g0ldy, thanks for mentioning that, but what is e-gold? I checked out the site and it says something about online gold instead of money? Huh?

Use Yahoo PayDirect!!

With ikobo, they send you an ATM card. So as soon as it arrives, get your cash, then (and only then, if you're dealing with a stranger) okay the domain transfer. With your cash in hand, it won't matter to you even if they try to do a chargeback.

I do, but that is only available to US residents.

Yes e-gold is money backed by gold.

Okay, but how does it compare to Paypal and PayDirect?

I think using iKobo is a good idea. I use them to receive money from another country. Paypal doesn't cover Romania; well it actually doesn't cover al lot of countries, so I had to look for something else. After reading up at www.iKobo.com I decided to use them, and have been for about two months now. I'd say they are legit and safe. Haven't had any problems yet. They do send you an ATM card with which you can withdraw your funds from any visa ATM. I would recommend them, however the choice is yours.

Whenever someone mention Ikobo on some forum a new user jumps in and tells the same nice story about Ikobo being good service. Just try a search for "Ikobo+reliable " or something in that line (or even "ikobo 'new user' ").
Well that was and still is a practice of many of them including PayPal jokers.

I am not saying the opposite, but would like to hear experiences from some older member(s) too.

There you go activeco. Old enough member for you? No offense, but I hope you aren't accusing me of being a spammer or something like that. That really is my experience; I don't know how I can prove that to you, you'll just have to trust me when I say this is my actual experience, not some fake testimonial. To me, it really has been a good experience so far, and I know of other friends of mine who had similar experiences.

Thanks in my name.

BTW, do you get Visa Electron card or you can use it for online purchases too?

I'm glad we can understand eachother. From what I understand, I haven't tried it yet, there are a few sites which accept this for online payment, but you can use it in "real" stores all over the world. It worked here in Romania, I don't see why it wouldn't work elsewhere.

I've been using iKobo.com's iKard for almost 6months and everything just works fine. No problem here in my country the Philippines. I've always wanted to secure a paypal account but my country; issue hinders me for doing so.

Ikobo service is really a great help for me and I use ikobo for almost all of my online transactions...

I've used ikobo three times already. My experience was that they really tried to validate my identity, which made sense since they took more risk by accepting more countries than Paypal. Aside from that, everything else was smooth sailing.

OK, lets try it.
I have some unused funds at Stormpay for such purposes.
Is anyone willing to do a sort of exchange by accepting money at Stormpay and funding my Ikobo account?
For a fee, of course.

Ah, I may be interested in trying it as I want to get my limits up soon for a future project. I would prefer to use something besides stormpay though.
