Hi everyone,

I just developed a dynamic site, http://www.hawaiistreets.com/sciencenews and I would like to make the URLs more friendly. I don't have access to the server since I just pay a yearly hosting fee. I know the server is IIS. Does anyone know of a free script that I can upload to my site that will automatically rewrite URLS? Sort of like Apache server does.

What exactly do you want to do? Do you want to re-write the page.php?this=that&whatever as page_whatever.php, and do this on top of your CMS? What do you have access to as far as admining the site/server?

To clarify what I want to do: I would like page.php?this=that&whatever look like page/whatever.htm

I don't really want to switch servers since I have a good relationship with my provider and the support is good. Maybe you guys know where I can find it. I found one from IIStoolshed, but it requires access to the server to install. It's a filter. I don't have an access. Any help is appreciated.

Do you only need to have the static looking URL accessible or do you need to rewrite the content being served to change the URLs in the content as well. Also, is a redirect from the html page to the scrambled-eggs-url ok, or do you actually need to serve the content from the html page.

Also, what admin features do you have access to? So you can't install a filter, but can you create a datasource, can you make custom error pages, can you set security on files. Understanding this is critical to coming up with a solution.
