Ignore offers at Sedo?

What happens if you ignore offers you receive for your domains at Sedo? Some earlier sales of mine have not been completed. I would rather develop a domain rather than wait indefinitely for payment.

If you ignore the offer for 7 days, it will expire.

Do many Sedo users ignore offers, especially for smaller amounts?

I would reply with price expectation. It will only take 5 seconds of your time.
Often I do no longer hear from the other party after my quote :hehe:

How high should I make the offer, 10 times, 100 times so that the buyer will ignore?
What happens if the buyer accepts the offer but refuses to pay?
Also what happens if you decide not to sell the domain later, does Sedo take any action against you?

Do you want to sell the domain or not?
If you do not want to sell, don't post it for sell.

You can also decline the offer.

A deal is a deal around here. If you come to an agreement with someone you should honor it. Why would you bother listing it if you have no intention of selling it? By the way, you can remove a name a sedo by simply a) moving the domain off their servers or b)undoing the redirect or forward. Don't play the game if you can't play nice.

I want to sell it. But for my 3 earlier auctions, the auctions ended and nothing happened after that, except a request to transfer the domain to 1and1. (which is not possible due to the 60 lock in period for newly registered domains)

I cannot even develop the 3 domains, since the buyers may ask for the domains and it is more than a month since the auction ended. If I develop the sites instead, I can monetise it in other ways.

I think I have clarified this, Sedo should complete their part first.

I think dnk's problem is that your domains were at DirectI right ?

and in your earlier thread, you said Sedo team won't accept DirectI domains.

So I guess you have no choice but to decline the offer. If possible, perhaps you wanna do this transaction outside of sedo. Just make him pay to your paypal, and you push the domain to him.

Yes, I would like to transact outside, but how do I find the buyer?

I do think Sedo accepts Directi (ResellerClub) Domains. I have several Mobis with Directi, which are sold on Sedo and transfered smoothly

Well, here in this thread, Post number 7

http://www.namepros.com/domain-name-discussion/316641-finding-a-buyer-using-sedo.html

dnk said, Sedo have problems dealing with DirectI .coms domain.

Okay, the solution, I am not sure if this works, but worth the try, Counter offer with $100,000,000. Then write down in the message box, domain cannot be sold via Sedo.

There is a message box there which allows you to communicate with the seller.

Then tell him your email, and communicate there.
Tell to pay direct to paypal, or use escrow.com

Hope this helps.

This is against Sedo TOS:

http://www.sedo.co.uk/about/policy.php?page=rules_sellers&tracked=&partnerid=&language=e#link5
Solicitation of an offsite sale

Sedo works hard to provide the Internetโ€™s #1 domain marketplace. Soliciting domain sales outside of the Sedo marketplace for the purpose of circumventing fees that would otherwise be due to Sedo is strictly prohibited. This includes using user contact information obtained from Sedo or using any of Sedo's services or features to offer to sell any listed domains outside of the Sedo marketplace or sending unsolicited commercial email offers to bidders that have bid on your domains, or any domains listed on the Sedo marketplace.

still dont see why SEDO wont accept to sell a domain from directi.
there escrow service gets the money, and you transfer to where they tell you, and you get the money.
Anyone else heard of this directi problem?

Hello Constantin,
I agree with you,
and
I love Sedo very much myself.

But, I think dnk is having some major problems here. Perhaps this case is an exceptional case with a proper excuse.

If you have read the thread I posted earlier about dnk's problem, He sold 3 domains there at Sedo, and the Sedo won't accept the DirectI transfer.

Now he can't develop the 3 domains, He is STUCK, not knowing to transfer to 1and1 or to keep the domains and develop them.

and now comes another offer, and perhaps he is gonna get stuck again ?

I really think this is an excusable issue Sedo might understand. Perhaps later you can directly pay Sedo 10% commission or some thing like that. Hope Dnk will get in contact with Sedo regarding this TOS issue.

Note: We are not trying to be dishonest by cheating our way out for the 10%. This is not done purposely. A problem arise, we try to solve.

If anyone has better ideas to help our friend here, please share.

Thanks.

I would contact Sedo to ask about this.
infoicq told us he successfully sold some Directi domains through Sedo.
So we don't know for sure. We have one positive and one negative testimonial.

For me it's strange why they would not accept a Directi domain, I transferred out more domains from Directi without any issue.

yeah kind of strange there. Such a big registrar.

Lesson: Use namecheap, moniker or godaddy.

Create another DirectI account and push the 3 names there the tell Sedo you'll just give them the username and password for the account.
