but one at a registrar like dd24 or one of the others that have like 50 choices is that name worth regging no matter what that last ext.

Like the word pop or top or mobile.

Perhaps. It would depend on your plans for the name, and how much this last remaining extension costs. Some of them can get really pricey, so unless you have a good development plan to fall back on, it might not be worth the risk.

I'll speculate on it - Yes. I did with a .in name with virtually all the extensions gone except the .bz extension and all the wierd 3rd tier ext's.
